CITROEN DS3 RACING FSH 21K Having searched a while for the perfect DS3 I stumbled across this one, with just 20, 000 milesand servicing every year by Citroen. Owned by a mature lady I couldnt find a better example! Having owned it for three days my partner mentioned that it was juddery when driving, I booked it into my local Citroen dealer to be checked. Our new DS3 was diagnosed as needing a new engine! Having done some research it would seem the original sporty little BMW engines are known for failure; melting pistons, stretched chains, cam timing issues and intake valves becoming blocked with carbon. In most cases Citroen offer an exchange engine, but in our case, for this car - no. The reason being BMW recognised the original engine has these faults. They have redesigned the cylinder head, the pistons, the timing chain, spark plugs, coil packs, intake pipes, PCV system and offered new software. This means a brand new engine straight from the citroen factory at £5200 followed by £1000 of parts plus fitting on top. As this was supplied and fitted by Citroen the engine comes with a 12 months warranty! You can not buy another DS3 Racing with 12 Months warranty with the engine, and this one is the revised spec 2 engine designed to be reliable, unlike others on the market with the original engine still fitted. The car itself drives like a brand new car, the original tyres were still fitted on the rear when purchased, Citroen have now moved these to the front. The interior is as new, spotless, the seats are as new, the steering wheel showing no signs of wear. The body is immaculate, no stone chips to the front, only very minor marks as to be expected. the wheels are kerb free and the graphics are in great condition. Discs and pads look almost new. So if youre looking for a DS3 racing with an engine that is covered for 12 months by Citroen and covered 800 miles, a chassis that has covered just 21, 000 miles with a full service history, an immaculate interior, bridgestone tyres front and rear, then its the one for you - I am confident you will not find a better one.... My partner is selling the DS3 with obvious reasons, the only winner is the new owner. £13000 with a new £7200 engine fitted having covered just 800 miles.
